Review Policy
If you represent a watch brand and would us to publish your news or review your watch, please note the following:
- We are not able to review every watch that is offered to us. In general, we tend to avoid digital watches, generic fashion brands and quartz watches.
- Brand to ship the review sample tracked and pay all shipping fees, including shipping fee for returning tracked if the watch is to be returned.
- Brand to pay any taxes or charges levied on importation to the UK.
- We will take reasonable care of the watch while it’s in our possession but are not responsible for any damage or loss.
- Your review will not be affected in any way by whether or not the reviewer can keep the watch at the end of the review.
- We are happy to return the watch or forward to the next reviewer tracked and insured, at your expense.
- If the watch is damaged or lost during its return journey, we will make a claim under the terms of insurance cover and reimburse only the amount that is paid out by that cover.
- If the watch is to be forwarded or returned, the brand is responsible for reimbursing me in full for any fees or duties I’ve incurred to do so.
- If you do not want the watch back:
- Please indicate this by marking the item explicitly as a gift in the customs declaration.
- Please do not include a commercial invoice as you are not selling the item to us.
- Because this is likely a used sample, (used for photography first,) we suggest that the customs declaration value be calculated as follows: Start with the actual production cost to you of one production watch, and then make an allowance for existing wear and tear, and no warranty.
- If you’re planning on loaning the watch and want it returned or forwarded:
- Please use “return”, “commercial sample” or “other” rather than “gift” or “merchandise” in the customs declaration.
- Please use this description in the customs declaration: “Loaned watch for review. To be returned after review.”
- What else to Include:
- The full specs of the watch.
- A list of all known differences between the sample sent and final production timepiece (This should include differences in packing materials, not just the watch itself.)
- Your pre-order pricing and retail pricing.
- Dates it’s available for pre-order, or on Kickstarter, and when it’s estimated to be produced.
- What else is included with the watch when purchased. e.g. Extra straps.
- We always include both things we like and three things we dislike about a watch and do not only review watches we know will attract a good review. Brands are not permitted to see the review or approve it before publication (we will share a summary for pull-out quotes on request) and we will not make edits or changes to a review after publication except where we agree that there is an error of fact.
